This design was an idea that came from my Visual Culture Research Project - Lifestyle Brand Nike, I felt that I could improve on my trainer illustrations so I decided to do a new range of trainers that were coming out two years ago, only a few of thousands that Nike was releasing that year. This to me was to prove that I could do better illustrations, showing illustration skills in more detail and as Nike trainers are a huge interest to me, I enjoyed doing these designs. The Air Max design was a Nike Air Max 90 Infrared design, this trainer was special, it was first introduced in 1990 and up to this date its still an appreciated trainer due to its original colours, this trainer was re released now given its name 'vintage OG' in the same colour way so I dedicated a design for it, as a canvas print idea, I will be producing more designs for my sneaker art range. The typography design was dedicated to the Air Max Day. First released in 1987, the Air Max is the rare sneaker beloved by both hardcore aficionados and civilians worldwide who just need a good running shoe. The Air Max has touched down on estates as part of street & music culture, roads, trails, gyms and as sportswear all over the world, The Air Max established the foundation for all sneaker technology to come, and set Nike on the course to become what it is today. So by researching all the Air maxes that have been released I decided to create a typography design, using the Nike Font 'Futura' I placed the font into position to create a silhouette on NIKE.
